What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis. Physiologically, erection is a hydraulic mechanism based upon blood entering and being retained in the penis, and there are various ways in which this can be impeded, most of which are amenable to treatment. Or more simply erectile dysfunction is when a man has problems getting or maintaining an erection long enough for sex because there is not enough blood flow to his penis. ED is a medical condition, so in most cases it will not improve without treatment.
